Joining the community
- To be onboarded to ɖears, you must (i) be a member of the After School community, (ii) come to a ɖears meeting, and (iii) agree to begin their membership by offering a service or non-perishable good to the community, to be posted on the listings board. All new members receive 100ɖ upon joining.
Sending ɖears & “Exit Taxes”
- Members may send ɖears to members or nonmembers (i.e., anyone with an email address). Non-members who hold ɖears may only send them to members.
- Every time you send ɖears, you must note the nature and purpose of the transaction.
- ɖears transfers are untaxed when they are:
- To members; AND in exchange for:
- Personal services,
- Perishable goods,
- Work on listed ɖears / CAD+SR projects
- To members; AND in exchange for:
- ɖears transfers are “exit taxed” when they are:
- To non-members; OR in exchange for:
- Non-perishable goods
- To non-members; OR in exchange for:
- Exit taxes are 100% and are payable in ɖears.
Definitions
- Personal Services: Ethereal services that don’t add value to a durable asset.
- Perishable Goods: Items intended for immediate consumption.
- Listed Projects: Projects listed on the community repo by ɖears members, which contribute to common good. Select CAD+SR / ɖears projects will be listed by the Commons Fund.
Rule & Role Changes
- Rules may evolve and change over time.
- The ɖears operators and system designers run meetings for voting on rule changes, official selection of Commons Fund projects, and may put their role up for election.
Demurrage
- All ɖears account balances will depreciate by 5% every 24 hours. This rule is intended to encourage circulation of ɖears.
